Good Grief! + DRAWING DAY TOMORROW

at one point in my life, i asked myself:

"do i hear things when im drunk?"


//. WHY THE QUESTION?

some people are aware of the Fiesta ng Sto. Nino a few months ago. well, my cousins and i were drinking brandy and beer while singing to the tunes of the videoke and sharing stories during that day in the afternoon. evening came and all of us were drunk, but still drinking (haha!). then it was time for me and my family to go home (i was forced, demmit).

i was almost dead drunk at that time, heck, the tricycle ride home was a life-or-death situation for me, since i was outside the tricycle clinging to the bars only. i fought the booze by keeping my brain cells busy. i read the signs along the road silently. i was like "Ella's carinderia... oh, Globe Telecom... Wanted: Lady Bedspacer... what the hell!"

good thing i didn't fall off the tricycle and got home safe. i rushed to the freezer and took out some ice. i took bits of it to dilute the alcohol (and loose the booze breath along the way). i swore never to sleep when wasted; get a grip first before nappy nap tiem (had a bad history... something bad happened when i slept right away while drunk).



//. AND YOUR POINT?

i turned on the pc, surfed the net, browsed the tv. while browsing i happen to stop at HERO TV since they were featuring Black Jack OVA (Black Jack = win!). i wasn't looking at the screen coz i dont want to see fast moving objects when my sight is all hazy from alcohol. so i was just listening... yeah.

suddenly my head turned to the tv screen when i (swore that i) heard something like:

"Gusto mo bang makipag-sex (want to have sex)?". apparently, a girl on the anime said that to Dr. Black Jack.

so where does the contradiction lie? HERO TV = children's anime cable channel. i heard the word SEX from HERO TV. SEX.... little children's channel...wait. what?!
was i hearing things bcoz i was drunk at that time? well i couldn't even trust myself at that time; i was drunk y'know.



//. SO WHERE DOES 'RELIEF' KICK IN?

well currently HERO TV is showing Black Jack OVA again in their weekday lineup (it's 8PM for those who're interested) and i just happen to watch Part 2 of the OVA at one point.

turns out i wasn't hearing things at all. well, what i heard the time i was drunk was different from the actual statement buuut more or less it was the same.

there was a scene in Black Jack OVA where a teenage girl (whom Dr. Black Jack rescued before) invited the doctor, out of gratitude for what he did, to sleep at her dorm instead of his hotel suite since it was getting late. the doctor declined the offer. the girl giggled and told Black Jack:

"Huwag kang mag-alala. Akala mo wala akong alam sa sex no? *giggles*"
(dont worry. you think i have no idea what sex is, don't you? *giggles*)

Dr. Black Jack just stares at her like an offer for sex is nothing. What a guy!


//. CONCLUSION

well, i find it weird for HERO TV to actually use the SEX word. there was no parental guidance warning before the show. not that the kids have an idea what it is... or do they?
